Medicinal mushrooms have been used for thousands of years in traditional Chinese medicine to help cure a variety of ailments. The most beneficial, researched properties of select mushroom species are primarily linked to beta-glucans and terpenoids. 

Beta-glucans are polysaccharides/fibers found in the cell walls of mushrooms. They help regulate the immune system. 

When we think of terpenoids, think of the aromatic compounds in lavender and/or hemp. Mushrooms have them, too. Different species, like reishi have significant research on triterpenes, and their potential health benefits.

At Cure, we believe in full transparency, which is why we test for all of these active compounds to assure you’re getting the best product available!

Mushrooms need to go through an extraction process to make the beta-glucans and terpenoids bioavailable for humans, meaning we can absorb them. 

The issue is that mushrooms have a tough cell wall that we cannot break down.

Beta-glucans are water soluble, so in order to extract these compounds, we perform a hot water extraction. Think of tea, but on a MUCH larger scale!

Terpenoids are alcohol soluble, so in order to extract these compounds, we perform an alcohol extraction.

Together, it’s a double extraction, but our mushrooms are also fermented prior to the hot water and alcohol extraction to make these compounds more bioavailable. After all, you don’t want a product that has the goods, but you can’t benefit from them, right?? RIGHT!

Yes! We not only do a standard safety test to confirm that the product is safe, but we test for active compounds like beta-glucans and terpenoids, to showcase how potent our products really are. Those that don’t are suspect…at least to us!

We source our mushrooms from organic farms in the Pacific Northwest. Our tinctures are then extracted and formulated in California and are certified organic.

Our gummies use the same certified organic liquid extract as our tinctures (glycerites) and are then produced in Nevada.
